Local man writes book on Whole Child Training Concept

Martial Hearts, vol. 2 is a new book written by Kyle resident Danny Passmore, a retired Martial Arts Grandmaster recognized for his method of teaching called The Whole Child Training Concept. This method of teaching focuses on physical self-defense abilities, but also includes emotional self-defense training.

Passmore believes more is needed to be done to protect youth from those who would batter others emotionally. Upon retiring, he put his knowledge into a book designed to give youth a defensive mental edge against potential emotional abuse as well as the tools to develop a healthy and happy lifestyle with guides to improving educational training and developing healthy relationships with others. The academic portion includes in-depth instruction on organizing, studying and test taking while the chapter on planning your future offers step by step instruction for developing critical thinking and problem solving skills.

There are also 19 courtesy rules, which, if practiced, guarantee to gain respect and admiration from others. The book does include some physical self-defense tips as well as dating self defense, such as setting boundaries and recognizing con games.

Danny Passmore is the founder of The Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame and producer of the Martial Arts Masters of Texas television show. To receive the book for only $30, he recommends purchasing directly from the publisher. Go to bookstore. dorrancepublishing.com/ products/martial-heartsthe-defensive-mentaledge- vol-2.
