Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra hosts the El Camino Real Car Show held on the last Sunday of the month for the Central Texas Car enthusiasts. In addition to the cars, there is live music, food booths, arts and crafts, and the fellowship of the attendees. Gary Job Corps Corrections Cadets assisted with crowd and traffic control. Gary Job Corps students and Corrections/Security Cadets have assisted in many local projects: Sights and Sounds of Christmas, Luling Watermelon Thump, Juneteenth Parade San Marcos/Austin, Circuit of the America’s Special Events, Q2 Soccer, Texas State Football/ Graduation activities, Chisholm Trail Roundup in Lockhart, 4th of July Parade in Martindale, Founders Day Activities in Dripping Springs, San Antonio Rodeo and Stock Show, Hats off for Veterans events, Festivals with local churches, South by Southwest in Austin, and as needed for city, county and state events.
