APRIL Earth Day San Marcos | April 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: The Meadows Center What: This free community- wide, family-friendly event is your chance to celebrate our local natural resources and connect with nature.

There will be a variety of hands-on educational activities for people of all ages, as well as live performances and demonstrations. You won’t want to miss the chance to interact with eco-friendly exhibitors and vendors who will showcase an array of environmental and sustainability-related topics.

Renters’ Legal Aid: Free Legal Council for Tenants | Monday, April 21, 2:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Who: Meet with Austin Tenants Council representatives and receive free counseling, mediation services to settle conflicts, eviction protection, and many other kinds of assistance. No registration required.

60+ Super Senior Jeopardy | April 23, 1 p.m.

Where: San Marcos Activity Center What: What is a fun, trivia- based program offered to those 60 and above? If you answered Super Senior “Jeopardy,” you would be correct. This group social will include playing a “Jeopardy like” trivia game from JeopardyLabs.com.

Participants will take turns choosing the category and amount of the question.

Each participant will have the opportunity to answer each question. For every correct answer, participants will be awarded the “amount” of the question.

For every incorrect answer, the “amount” of the question will be deducted from the participant’s score.

Points are not awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.

60+ S.M.A.S.H. Bowling Social | April 24, 2 - 4 p.m.

Where: Sunset Bowling Lanes, 1304 Hwy 123 What: The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation and Sunset Bowling Lanes are hosting a Bowling Social each month.

Prom Dance for Adults with Disabilities | April 25, 7 - 9 p.m.

Where: San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins What: Get in the prom season spirit with us at this fun dance event. Concessions are $1 and there will be DJ music and door prizes.

Coffee & Commerce | April 25, 8:30 - 10 a.m.

Where: Arden Apartments, 231 Windsor Blvd.

Who: San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce What: Fuel your morning with networking, coffee, and community. Enjoy coffee and breakfast treats as you make connections with local professionals.

Bring plenty of business cards to share while you network. After the event, members will receive an email with a copy of everyone’s cards.

Business representatives who are not already members of the San Marcos Chamber are WELCOME to attend up to two times before joining, to experience the benefit of these networking events. Empowering Survivors Together: Film Screening, Gallery, & Workshop Activities | Tuesday, April 29, 6 to 8:15 p.m.

Migratory Bird Day Festival | May 10, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Where: San Marcos Discovery Center – 430 Riverside Drive What: Celebrate birds during this fun, interactive festival for the whole family. A live bird “meet and greet”, bird walks, live music, games, partner booths, crafts, activities and a migratory bird obstacle course are a few of the things we have in store for you. This festival is part of a global effort to further migratory bird conservation around the globe by creating a worldwide campaign organized around the planet’s major migratory bird corridors.

This 2025 theme is Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities. FREE

Memorial Day Ceremony | May 26, 10 a.m.

Where: Hays County Veterans Memorial – 450 E. Hopkins What: Veterans and community members will recite the names of all Hays County Veterans who were Killed in Action since WWI. This year marks the 21st Anniversary of the dedication of the Hays County Veterans Memorial. Local Veteran organizations, the San Marcos High School Air Force FROTC, and the Aquarena Symphonic Band will be participating in the ceremony.
