18th annual cookoff benefits Youth Service Bureau
benefits the Youth Service Bureau, which is celebrating 50 years in operation as of this year.
The San Marcos Youth Service Bureau is an independent, non-profit agency that has been in operation since 1975. It provides free after-school and summer programs to youth ages 11 to 17. Originally a pilot project of Southside Community Center to address the chemical abuse problem in the San Marcos area, the agency’s focus soon evolved to include prevention of all delinquent behaviors. In the past several years, YSB has concentrated on the overall promotion of healthy youth development in San Marcos and Hays County. The YSB is located at 2004 B Medical Pkwy. Learn more at ysb.org.
