LOCAL EVENTS
The first annual Glurpo Fest came to the Triple Six Social, located at 329 Cheatham Street, on April 13. The history of Glurpo the Clown originates at the underwater shows of Aquarena Springs that occurred during the theme park’s operation from the 1950s to 1990s. Glurpo was the underwater clown in the show. So to honor that history, a group of local clowns, dubbed the Glurpo Society, began Glurpo Fest. The event was a fun-filled and family- friendly afternoon for all clown lovers to enjoy local artisan pop-ups, a talent show, a clown parade, balloon animals and a bouncy castle. There was live music by Attic Ted and DJ Traz Ion. The community came out in droves to clown around!
