On Monday, April 14, Betty Randazzo met with Diesel Dee Bartlett at KZSM 104.1 FM radio station for Veterans’ Hour in San Marcos. Randazzo informed the listeners how the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary helps the VFW Post Veterans. For example, the VFW Auxiliary decorates the hall for special Friday morning breakfasts like Easter, Valentine's Day and St Patrick's Day. Also, the Air Force JROTC works with the VFW Post, important to note because this program is now being removed from the San Marcos High School curriculum. Other topics of discussion included the VFW Auxiliary cookbook, which is in the process of being printed, and planning for the July 4th picnic that is coming up at the Maurice T. Suttles VFW Post 3413 at 1701 Hunter Road. In addition to upcoming events for the VFW Hall, Randazzo talked about her father, who was a World War II Veteran and parachute jumper.
