LOCAL EVENTS

The Menudo Throwdown hosted by the Hill Country Cookoff Association brought a huge crowd to the downtown square Saturday. As promised, there was a ton of menudo but also barracho beans, fideo, carne guisada, tacos, micheladas and margaritas. There were lots of vendors selling goods of all types in addition to the smorgasbord of food offerings. Each year, the proceeds benefit a child with cancer.
