FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Sophomore Mila Juarez breakout year ended at the UIL State Wrestling Meet where she took home the silver medal in the 120-lb weight class.
The sophomore’s dominance during the 20242025 season is the reason Juarez earned the San Marcos Daily Record High School Female Athlete of the Year.
Juarez was a mainstay in the state rankings in the 120-lb weight class while racking up first place medals during the regular season.
At the district meet, Juarez took second place and qualified for regionals. During the regional meet, Juarez continued to rack up wins and earned her spot in the regional final and her spot in the state tournament.
Juarez added to her collection of gold medals by winning the regional championship.
At the state meet, Juarez continued her dominant performance, including earning a win over a state medalist to punch her ticket to the championship final. Juarez came in second and finished the season with an 40-8 overall record.
HONORABLE MENTIONS BRINKLEY REEVES
Became the all-time leader in kills in program history. Led the team in kills, assists, digs and aces for the Rattlers.
EZRA TOBIAS
Averaged 9.8 points per game, 3.3 steals per game and 3.4 assists per game for the Lady Rattles at the point guard position while being the focal point for defense.
ELEANOR SMITH Smashed the school record in cross country while taking first place at the District 29 meet before winning gold at the Region IV meet. Also advanced to the regional track meet in the 3,200-meter run.
NELLIE MAURITZ-BARBOZA Set a new school record in the pole vault at 12-6, en route to winning first place at the area meet and taking second at the district meet. Also advanced to the regional track meet.
ANNALISE MARTINEZ
Scored 16 goals for the Lady Rattlers while leading the team back into the postseason.
