312,000 square foot cold storage center in Lockhart completes phase one

The Lone Star Logistics Center in Lockhart has just completed Phase One of its multi-phase buildout. Developed by Related Fund Management and strategically located between Austin and San Antonio with direct access to Dallas, Houston and beyond — this project is poised to become a central node in Texas’ growing logistics ecosystem.

The inaugural anchor tenant is RealCold, one of the fastest-growing providers in cold storage and integrated cold chain services. The company has constructed a 312,000-square-foot temperature- controlled facility at the logistics center. It embodies RealCold’s commitment to modern, flexible, value-rich infrastructure that serves food retailers, producers and food service brands alike. It also reflects a slice of the considerable investment that RFM has allocated to this pursuit as covered by the Wall Street Journal in their article The $1 Billion Bet to Get Us Our Steak and Ice Cream (wsj. com).

The Lockhart location was a strategic choice for RealCold — aligning with its mission to support high-consumption markets by delivering ample capacity and expanded services, including traditional pallet storage and direct-to-consumer fulfillment.

For the Lockhart region and greater Central Texas, the benefits are immediate and long-term. RealCold has already hired and will continue to hire local corporate and warehousing staff, will invest in the community, and will improve regional access to food supply by reducing shipping times and increasing reliability. With a modern cold chain facility embedded regionally, local producers, distributors and consumers all stand to gain from greater efficiency, fresher products and strengthened food safety.
