SAN MARCOS POLICE DEPARTMENT
A drinking and driving collision led to a power outage Monday night, according to an official with the city of San Marcos. Miguel Perez, 26, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in connection with the incident in which he struck a utility pole at the intersection of Academy Street and Harvard Street with a Nissan Rouge.
The city official stated that the power outage began at 10:02 p.m, affecting 1,386 customers. Service was restored to 1,373 customers by 12:30 a.m. on May 20, with power fully restored to the remaining 13 customers by 3:39 a.m.
