MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Transferring in from James Madison, quarterback Jordan McCloud showed why he is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks of the Group of Five and the reason he is the 2024-2025 Colligate Male Athlete of the Year.
McCloud took command of the Bobcat offense during the 2024 season and pushed it to new heights. The Bobcats were the highest scoring offense in the conference last year, averaging 36.5 points per game.
McCloud threw for 3,227 yards and 30 touchdowns while rushing for 278 yards and seven touchdowns. McCloud became just the third quarterback ever at Texas State to pass for over 3,000 yards behind T.J. Finley and Barrick Nealy while becoming the first ever Bobcat quarterback to pass for 30 touchdowns.
In one of the most memorable moments of the season, McCloud passed for 309 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 30 yards and two touchdowns in Texas State’s historic 49-10 win over the rival UTSA Roadrunners.
HONORABLE MENTION JADEN WILLIAMS
Caught 57 passes for 807 yards and seven touchdowns for the Bobcats. In the Bobcats bowl win over North Texas, Williams caught eight passes for 155 yards and one touchdown.
JOEY HOBERT
Caught 70 passes for 680 yards and eight touchdowns for the Bobcats. Against Arkansas State, Hobert caught 10 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns in the Bobcats 41-9 win over the Red Wolves.
TYLAN POPE Averaged 16.4 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Bobcats. In Texas State’s double-overtime win against Southern Miss, Pope scored a career high 28 points along with 12 rebounds.
AIDEN HAYES
Took home the gold medal in the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor in the high jump competition while tying a conference record with a jump of 7-4.4. Hayes is currently competing at the NCAA West Regionals.
CHASE MORA
Led the team in both home runs and RBIs while maintaining a batting average of .286. Against No. 1 Texas, Mora went 2-5 from the plate including hitting a grand slam.
