ART SHOW & TIKI TIME
End May off with a bang at MotherShip Studios for the opening of “Finding Our Way Home” this Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. The show is curated by Casie Lomeli and features work by Alexander Barrón, Kat Cadena, Juan Carlos Escobedo, Veronica Ibargüengoitia, Nadin Nassar and Jo E Norris. The exhibition is an exploration of the shared dread of losing a place, searching for belonging, and the celebration of the spaces we uncover when we find our way home, wherever that may be. There will be open exhibit hours Saturdays in June from 12 to 3 p.m.
On Sunday, LaniKai Lounge is back with a Tiki Pop-Up at The Davenport. The famed tiki bar left San Marcos too soon, but I’m so happy they are back doing pop ups. From 3 to 6 p.m. enjoy tiki cocktails and music by DJ Wes Texas. There will also be tiki mugs, aloha apparel, tiki decor, Lanikai gear and nautical decor for sale. Go support these island lovers and enjoy a sip of paradise.
