CASA of Central Texas celebrates 40 years of advocacy with ribbon cuttings

CASA of Central Texas is proud to commemorate its 40th anniversary with a series of ribbon cutting ceremonies across the region, celebrating four decades of unwavering advocacy for children in the foster care system. These events honor the community partnerships that have made CASA’s mission possible and reaffirm the organization’s commitment to serving 100% of children in need across Caldwell, Comal, Hays and Guadalupe counties.

So far this year, CASA has hosted three successful ribbon cuttings:

• Caldwell County in Lockhart – March 4, 2025

• Comal County in New Braunfels – May 21, 2025

• Wimberley/Dripping Springs – May 22, 2025

• San Marcos – May 30, 2025 These celebrations have brought together local leaders, volunteers and supporters to reflect on CASA’s impact and look ahead to the future.

“Our vision is clear: to serve 100% of children in foster care in all four counties we represent,” said Norma Blackwell, CASA of Central Texas CEO. “These ribbon cuttings are more than just celebrations — they are a call to action for our communities to continue standing with us in support of best interest advocacy for all children experiencing foster care.”

CASA of Central Texas trains and supports Court Appointed Special Advocates who speak up for the best interests of children in the child welfare system. With the continued support of the community, CASA is determined to expand its reach and ensure that no child faces the system without a dedicated, consistent and caring volunteer.
