The San Marcos Art League honors Pride Month by dedicating June’s exhibition, Love’s Palette, to commemorating and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. Creative works in different mediums from local artists will be on display and for sale in the San Marcos Art Center June 4 to 27.
This will be the first show for the new SMAC Director of Exhibitions Ginger Salone.
“I’m honored to be a part of the Art League and excited about this show,” Salone said. “This exhibition provides a platform for marginalized voices to be heard and can help challenge stereotypes and societal norms. This type of exhibition also helps to create a sense of community and solidarity among LGBTQ+ artists and serves as a safe space for expression and self-identification. Additionally, LGBTQ+ art exhibitions can help to promote diversity and inclusivity in the art world and offer a valuable opportunity for dialogue and understanding among all members of society.”
This unique showcase will be open to view during Art Center hours: Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, visit sanmarcosartcenter.com.
