Paid parking for nonresidents at City Park begins July 1

SAN MARCOS CITY PARK

Beginning July 1, visitors to City Park, located at 170 Charles Austin Drive, who do not live within the San Marcos city limits will have to pay for parking.

Here’s what one needs to know:

• City of San Marcos residents park for free upon registration. Proof of city address is required.

• Registration is required for each vehicle/license plate. Up to five vehicles may be registered at each address.

• Parking fees vary from $5 for one hour to $15 for a full day spot.

• Special events and holidays will require a $25 flat fee.

• Payment can be made at an on-site kiosk or through a pay-by-phone app.

• The City Park parking lot is for use by patrons visiting city-owned parks only.

There will be registration events at the San Marcos Activity Center, located on 501 East Hopkins Street, on the following dates:

• June 17 from 5:30 to 7p.m.

• June 23 from 12 to 2 p.m.

• June 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
