Broke Thespians to present Loud & Proud Queer Market
Broke Thespian’s Theatre Company will host the Loud and Proud, an inaugural queer market celebrating LGBTQIA+ markers, artists and entertainers in the San Marcos area. This free community event will be held Saturday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mothership Studios.
Loud and Proud will feature queer art and handmade creations, a butterfly bar from Lava Lash Beauty and food and drink stalls from local LGBTQIA+ businesses. Live performances will include drag, bands, soloists and fire eaters — a little bit of everything — as well as free activities and community connection. Resources from local queer organizations and services like Lavender Space and the San Marcos River Rollers will also be present.
According to program manager Katie Henderson at BTTC, “This isn’t just a market, it’s a love letter. We’re creating a space that centers queer voices and celebrates all the ways we create and thrive.”
Entry to the market is free. The venue is accessible, and masks will be available at the entrance. Stop by and celebrate what being proud is all about.
