Teacher Reuse celebrates successful impact in 2024/25 school year

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Teacher Reuse, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to supporting public and charter school teachers, proudly announced its significant impact for the 2024/25 academic year. In a remarkable demonstration of support, the organization distributed over $260,000 worth of essential classroom supplies to 948 registered teacher shoppers, representing 89 school districts throughout Central Texas.

This year’s initiative included a new approach focused on measuring sustainability. Teacher Reuse began weighing the supplies provided to educators as part of its ongoing commitment to recycling and reducing waste. From January to May of 2025, the organization successfully diverted an impressive one ton of reusable materials from landfills each month, further highlighting the importance of reusing resources in education.

Currently, Teacher Reuse is gathering leftover classroom supplies as it gears up for the Teacher Back-to-School shopping events beginning on July 8 through August 2. Teachers can visit the website to complete yearly registration and sched- ule an appointment.

The impact of Teacher Reuse is evident not only in the quality of educational resources provided but also in the community response to its initiatives. By fostering a culture of reuse and recycle, Teacher Reuse continues to play a vital role in supporting educators, enhancing learning environments and championing sustainable practices.

At Teacher Reuse, we promote community support for Texas public and charter schools by providing free donated classroom supplies, encouraging reuse, recycling and shared responsibility for education. Our vision is a future rooted in respect for educators, where communities actively support schools, educational resources are reused and all students have what they need to thrive, thus fostering sustainability and shared responsibility.
