It has been a busy Spring at the Chamber – and the summer seems to be just as busy as many fall events are being planned.
The Seguin Chamber of Commerce has some important events upcoming and announcements for the community.
CRAFT BEER AND WINE FEST
If you have not heard – The Chamber is hosting a Craft Beer and Wine fest on July 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. If you want earlier admission, the doors open at 5 p.m. for VIP ticket holders. Currently, there are nine craft brewers that will be represented to include two local brewers. These brewers will typically have two or three of their craft brews available for tasting during the event – and if you really like the brew, there will be a full serving available too. So, whether you are a Pilsner, Bock, Hefeweizen, Lager or Kolsch person, we have you covered. For those that want to attend but have a gluten-free need – we too have this covered with a brewer of cider. The cider brewer offers something for a different taste, but also for those that need a gluten free option. Tickets for the event are on sale, and the advance tickets are $20; but if you wait until the day of the event, tickets at the door are $25. For more information you can visit the Seguin Chamber’s website for the event at seguinchamber.com/ event-detail?e=1V45ejow s47v3794qCmiCw2.
WOMEN OF INFLUENCE CONFERENCE
On July 31, the Chamber’s Women’s Council will hold the Annual Texas Women of Influence Conference. This year the event theme is “Unleashing You Inner Superhero,” and the speakers will all provide some keys to achieving the conference theme. The event emcee will be Melissa Vega from News 4/Fox SA and additional speakers are being revealed weekly. Tickets for the Conference can be obtained by contacting the Chamber Office at 830-379-6382 or through the Chamber website at seguinchamber.com/ event-detail?e=rhbtzQxil %7c16UVsXqgPtAQ2.
CHAMBER WELCOMES NEW CHAMBER BOARD MEMBERS
Annually the Chamber membership nominates new Chamber Board of Directors to serve a term on the Chamber Board. This year the Chamber’s Nominating Committee assembled a great group of nominees to serve beginning in October 2025. The new Board of Directors are Delilah Reyes (Seguin Gazette), Monica Sanchez (VTX1 Internet), Chris Welfel (CMC Steel), Gabriela Diaz (Old Republic Title), Jake Pflum (Kimley-Horn Architects), Emily Allen (Seguin ISD) and Josh Wilson (Guadalupe Regional Medical Center). All of these new Chamber Board of Directors will be installed at the Annual Chamber Banquet that will be held on September 17.
AMBASSADORS
Do you know someone who is a chamber member, outgoing, likes to meet new people, spreads the word of new businesses that are in Seguin and overall likes to have fun? If so, they should apply to become a Chamber Ambassador! The Chamber Ambassadors are also the connectors of our new businesses to assure that these new chamber members have the best experience possible when they join the chamber. Ambassadors also assist with so many Chamber events throughout the year such as ribbon cuttings, networking mixers, chamber luncheons, Chamber Annual Banquet, and many, many more chamber events throughout the year – making them, as the Chamber Chair of the Board Elizabeth Engelhardt always says, “the hardest working people for the Chamber.” We currently do have openings for new Chamber Ambassadors, so if you are interested, call the chamber office for more information at (830) 379-6382 or speak with one of the existing ambassadors.
SEGUIN AREA YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
SAYLA week started this week for a select few of the area’s future leaders. These students have a full week of 10-hour days ahead of them where they will learn more about the local government, manufacturers in the region, non-profits in Guadalupe County and a host of other items along the way. During this initial week, the students will be selecting a leadership “project” to carry out in Seguin, which requires them to fund raise for the project. Last year, the leadership project that the students completed was the handicap access to the flag circle in Veterans Park. The students are selling Sonic Coupon Cards to raise funds for their project. The $10 cards can be purchased from any of the SAYLA participants or can be purchased/pickedup at the Seguin Chamber Office, located at 116 North Camp Street.
Chamber staff wishes anyone reading this a very safe summer
See You in Seguin
