HONORING LOCALS
Established in 1984, the Women’s Hall of Fame honors San Marcos women who have made lasting impacts through volunteerism, leadership and service. More than 140 outstanding local women have been inducted since its creation.
Nominations are open now through Friday, Aug. 15 at 4 p.m., and the selected honorees will be celebrated during an induction ceremony in October. A committee of past recipients will review nominations based on criteria such as: • Volunteerism across multiple areas
• Meeting community needs
• Demonstrating initiative • Creating positive change and going beyond the call of duty
This annual tradition is a powerful way to highlight women who are often behind the-scenes changemakers. It’s a chance to spotlight stories of resilience, service and local pride.
The nomination form is available online at sanmar costx.gov/fame, and paper forms can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation Office, located at 401 East Hopkins Street.
