Wheel-N-deals to host Open House July 15

Tired of spinning your wheels in the social media world? Wheel-N-Deals Square Dance Club offers a unique alternative to doom scrolling. Get ready to dosey-do to a different beat with the organization’s Open House for Beginners on Tuesday, July 15 at the Maurice T. Suttles VFW Hall, starting at 5 p.m.

This year’s open house will kick off with line dance lessons from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by square dance lessons from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a regular dance from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Couples, families and teens are welcome. Casual dress is encouraged; no fancy clothes are required. According to Wheel-N-Deals president, Billy Grimsley, square dancing is great exercise for a person’s heart, body and mind.

In addition to promoting line dance lessons, Grimsley announced that Wheel-N-Deals is promoting scholarships to teenagers interested in learning square dance.

“Virtually all teens can get the scholarship once they become square dancers,” Grimsley said.

Grimsley will also serve as the assistant general chairman for the 75th Annual National Square Dance Convention, which will be held in Waco during June next year.

Line dance lessons are $5 per class or $50 per quarter. Square dance lessons are $80 for 20 weeks. Children are free if their parents are taking lessons.
