LOCAL EVENTS
The 46th Annual Rose L. Brooks Juneteenth Cake Auction brought together the San Marcos community to raise money for scholarships and resources for under-represended students in San Marcos at the First United Methodist Church. A variety of cakes and desserts were bid on, many going for hundreds of dollars to support the scholarship fund. Many San Marcos and Hays County officials were present such as Mayor Jane Hughson, Texas State Representative Erin Zwiener, San Marcos City Council Members Alyssa Garza and Lorenzo Gonzalez, SM Planning and Zoning Commission members David Case and Michele Burleson, and Hays County Commissioners Walt Smith and Michelle Cohen.
