Our family used to go big for the Fourth of July. We had a lot of little kids screaming around the yard with sparklers or daring each other to do a backflip into the river.
Our kids are grown now, more prone to Blue Dahlia brunch dates than turns on a slip-nslide — still fun, but with a lot less mud. This weekend, our family will come together for the Fourth, but this time we’re planning a spa-day sleepover following the Friday night fireworks in the park. One new local business we plan to visit is Fen & Hallow, the recently- opened holistic shop located at 165 South Guadalupe
Street in Suite 112. I stopped in last week, and my curiosity was happily rewarded. Fen & Hallow offers a variety of selfcare essentials — everything from books, supplements, curated gifts and natural sweets — perfect for an impromptu wellness spa with our fullgrown kiddos.
