Local, independent grocer Ollie’s Market is officially moving forward with its first storefront in San Marcos, thanks to generous early support from friends, family and community members.
After launching a grassroots GoFundMe campaign earlier this summer, Ollie’s Market founders Eli and Natalie Zablosky received an outpouring of support from San Marcos residents and beyond. That momentum helped them secure the remaining startup capital and bring their vision for a community-focused grocery to life.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who believes in Ollie’s and helped us get here,” said Eli Zablosky. “It’s truly a neighborhood effort, and we’re proud to carry that spirit forward into our opening.”
Ollie’s Market has officially signed a lease at 306 North Edward Gary Street, Suite A, in the University Plaza in downtown San Marcos. The team is now working on health compliance to open a deli kiosk by mid-July, offering cold brew, matcha and fresh, scratch-made items like sandwiches, salads, pasta and breakfast fare. The full grocery and market opening is slated for late August.
In the meantime, San Marcos residents will get a taste of Ollie’s beginning July 1, when its Grab & Go deli offerings launch at Tantra SMTX. Deli items will be stocked seven days a week, featuring a rotating selection of nourishing meals made with care.
