“National Fried Chicken Day is a great way to engage with our community,” Wendy McCrory, Gus’s owner, said. “I see this day as a celebration for friends and family to connect over a comforting meal. We are hopeful to serve our guests that visit every week, while also looking forward to meeting and making new friends just trying us out for the first time.”

Guests can expect more than just food. The dining room will be decked out for the occasion. Keep an eye on our social media in the days leading up to July 6 for a sneak peek of the festive store decor.

“As always, everyone is welcome to come on in and make themselves at home while we prepare for them what many people believe to be the best fried chicken in the world,” McCrory said. Bring your appetite, bring a friend and bring the good vibes. It’s going to be a celebration you don’t want to miss.

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is a full-service restaurant serving made-to-order, hand-battered fried chicken. Not to be confused with Nashville hot chicken; it serves southern spicy fried chicken. Gus’ makes all our southern sides in-house daily; from shredding fresh cabbage for the coleslaw to cutting potatoes for the potato salad. Most of their sides tend to be on the sweeter side to pair perfectly with the chicken. Enjoy a sweet tea, a really big beer or a bottle of DOM with your meal. Finish up with one of Gus’ simple southern pecan, chess, sweet potato or chocolate chess pies baked daily. Gus’s is the current reigning champion of the National Fried Chicken Festival. Travel Channel ranked Gus’s as the 12th Tastiest Restaurant in America to Chow Down, and GQ Magazine believes Gus’s is one of the top 10 restaurants in the world worth flying to for a meal.
