MotherShip Studios invites the public out to a special one night art experience on Saturday, July 19 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Completing the Circuit is a site-specific immersive installation inspired by the success of artist Iris Okoro’s senior design project, the Artistic Automaton — an autonomous robotic drawing arm that translates user- submitted images into stylized line art. That engineering project, which won the Best Project Faculty Choice Award at Texas State University’s Ingram School of Engineering in Spring 2025, sparked deeper reflection on the role of ritual, expression and elemental symbolism in bridging the gap between human creativity and machine logic.
This installation extends that dialogue — inviting viewers into a contemplative sensory circuit through the four classical elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Each elemental node is represented as a tactile, minimalist vignette, layered with subtle responsive electronics. The experience unfolds through a circular path, inviting sensory engagement and gentle interaction — mirroring cycles of transformation, feedback and connection within living systems.
