If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend any of our past live music events, there are still more opportunities to look forward to. Metal Mark is brewing up another heavy metal event for the month of July and a few of our other radio hosts are planning events for this summer as well. Rob Roark of Revolving Door, which can be heard on Sundays from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., will be celebrating 150 performances of live bands on his program, inviting some of the artists who have graced our studio on his programs. Look for this event to be held at one of our many local venues who have supported your true community radio station. Details for these and other upcoming events will be forthcoming.

KZSM will be returning to the Kissing Alley. As many of our followers and supporters know, we have been producing music events in the Kissing Alley year-round since we began livestreaming our broadcasts over two years ago. Although this music event is currently being held on the courthouse lawn on Saturdays, the coziness and the acoustics are just not the same. We will be kicking off our return in August with a live band and many our radio hosts will be on hand for our listeners to come and meet. Come and discover the faces that are attached to the voices you enjoy listening to! As a bonus, we are also considering adding after hours Karaoke in the alley as well.

In the meantime, bring your blanket or a lawn chair to the courthouse lawn in Saturday, July 13 and be ready to be entertained by the lovely Shannon Murphy, who has performed for us in the Kissing Alley, and Space-Corps. We are looking forward to enjoying their performances, we hope you can join us.

If you would like to support your true community radio station, there are a couple of things you may do. Financial support in the form of donations are always welcome or, you can always get involved. Our volunteer staff meetings are always open to the public. Bring your ideas, your talents and your abilities to see how you can become a part of your community radio family. Meetings are held every fourth Wednesday at Wake the Dead Coffee House at 7:30 p.m. We are always looking for ideas on how we may better serve our community.

KZSM (Just a little bit south of weird!) now streaming world-wide on the internet at KZSM.org.
