TECHNOLOGY MEETS ART & WAKE THE DEAD MEETS POPEYE
Tech nerds and Art nerds rejoice! This Saturday worlds combine as MotherShip Studios presents Completing the Circuit, a one night only event by artist Iris Okoro. This immersive installation features his award-winning creation Artistic Automaton, an autonomous robotic drawing arm that translates user-submitted images into stylized line art. The event is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Sunday is movie night at Wake the Dead Coffeehouse with Cursed Movie Nights presenting the 1980 classic Popeye in honor of Shelley Duvall’s birthday earlier this month. Come see the late Shelley as Olive Oil and the late and great Robin Williams as the man himself, Popeye! Cursed Movie Nights are always special with interactive elements, snacks and even Shelley Duvall t-shirts for sale. The event is free but come early because seating is limited. Showtime starts at 7 p.m.
