SMHS CHEERLEADING
The San Marcos High School cheerleading squads took home championship hardware after particpating at UCA Cheer Camp held at Texas State.
The Varisty Rattler cheerleading squad took home second place overall in camp dance while the Junior Varisty Rattler cheerleading squad won first place overall in camp dance.
San Marcos High School’s famous mascot, Ricky the Rattler, also won an award, being the recipient of the UCA Leadership Award.
Nine San Marcos cheerleaders earned UCA All-American honors in Janessa Garza, Keira Kunz, Lizbeth Sandoval, Natalie Velasquez, Samantha Valbrun, Samiya Jolviette, Serenity Barron and Taliyah Guia. Ricky the Rattler also earned All-Amercian honors.
