Texas State was selected second in the Sun Belt West Division in the Coaches Preseason Poll released before Sun Belt Media Days.
Texas State received six first place votes, earning 78 points. Louisiana was picked to be the favorite in the West Division, earning 86 points and six first place votes.
In the Sun Belt East Division, James Madison took first place with 94 points and 11 first place votes.
Despite earning second place in the Sun Belt West Division, no Texas State players were selected to the Sun Belt First Team and Second Team Preseason All-Conference selections.
Texas State will be represented by Head Coach G.J. Kinne, senior offensive linemen Dorion Strawn and senior defensive lineman Kalil Alexander at Sun Belt Media Days, beginning Tuesday at 11 a.m.
