Magic Mirror Vintage in Lockhart was hit by a vehicle just before 9 a.m. on July 21, which hit a structural beam, display window and the door, leaving the front of the building completely wide open.
“Natalie [Ribbon, the shop owner,] is in shock. Her building owner does not have insurance. Her shop doesn’t have business insurance. We are waiting to hear back to make sure the driver of the vehicle has insurance,” according to the GoFundMe page. “She is going to need help to rebuild. At this moment, we don’t know what rebuilding even looks like. But we know she will need support in order to pay her employees during an unforeseen time of closure along with many other expenses that will come and to rebuild.”
An official with the city of Lockhart stated that emergency dispatch received a call about a truck colliding with a building on the 100 block of San Antonio Street.
“The driver was exiting the drive-thru of First Lockhart National Bank when he accelerated and then collided into a building across the street,” the official stated. “Initial reports indicate this was an accident. The driver was safely removed from the vehicle and was assessed for injuries. He is expected to be okay. No charges have been filed at this time.”
