CITY OF SAN MARCOS
Beginning Aug. 11, Tiffany Williams will serve as the city marshal for the city of San Marcos. In her role, Williams will provide strategic leadership and oversight of law enforcement and safety services in the city’s park system, which involves 2,100 acres of green space and 40 miles of trails. She will manage all divisions of the City Marshal’s Office, developing operational plans, policies and procedures to support deputy marshals, parking enforcement and municipal court security/warrant service functions.
Williams has served as the interim city marshal since October 2024, which has included oversight of staffing and strategic initiatives involving multiple departments to promote safety and manage crowds at the city’s riverfront parks during the busy summer season.
“Tiffany is a strong leader who is deeply dedicated to the San Marcos community,” Assistant City Manager Lonzo Anderson said. “Her leadership and demonstrated commitment to collaboration and communityfocused problem solving will enhance safety and streamline operations to benefit everyone who enjoys our parks, green spaces and natural areas. Furthermore, her ability to embrace innovative law enforcement strategies will be key to reimagining our approach when interacting with park patrons while ensuring vital river protection.”
