LOCAL EVENTS
From July 13 to 16, Crime Stoppers Student Ambassadors from Odessa, Amarillo, Paris, Beaumont, Kyle and San Marcos gathered in San Marcos for an immersive leadership and law enforcement experience.
Over four days, Ambassadors trained with Hays County SWAT, Crisis Negotiators, and the Unmanned Robotics Team during a live hostage rescue scenario. They explored agency operations with local law enforcement leaders, practiced tactical driving, experienced TASER training, and held meaningful discussions with judges, prosecutors, victim advocates and mental health officers — including a special session with Therapy K9 Mirko.
The Crime Stoppers Ambassador Program is a statewide leadership initiative for high school students involved in their local Crime Stoppers communities. Each year, 12 students are selected for their dedication to public safety, service, and leadership potential. Throughout their oneyear term, ambassadors complete projects that build skills in public speaking, outreach and community engagement, serving as role models on their campuses and as the youth voice of Crime Stoppers in Texas.
These young leaders return home equipped to educate peers, support crime prevention and inspire lasting change across the state.
