Pare named Doak Walker Award candidate

TXST FOOTBALL

Texas State running back Lincoln Pare was announced as a 2025 Doak Walker Award candidate by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum. The Forum annually presents the award to the nation’s most outstanding college running back.

The junior adds the accolade to preseason honors from the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and Wuerffel Trophy after coming off a 2024 comeback season that saw him named the 2025 First Responder Bowl MVP.

Pare appeared in all 13 games in 2024 and led the Bobcats with eight rushing TDs (8th SBC) off 95 carries and 554 yards. He was third on the team in total offense and fifth with 688 all-purpose yards. He was previously one of two Bobcats named to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football All-Texas College Teams ahead of the 2025 season as well.

Ten semifinalists will be selected in November, and three finalists, as voted on by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee, will also be announced later that month. The committee will cast a second vote in December to determine the recipient. The National Selection Committee consists of past recipients, former NFL All-Pro and college All-America running backs, media members and selected special representatives. The recipient of the 2025 Doak Walker Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 11, 2025.
