A new independent grocer is opening its doors in San Marcos. Ollie’s Market, located in University Plaza at 306 North Edward Gary Street, Suite A, will begin soft opening hours from 12 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17. The market offers a thoughtful selection of fresh produce, local and regional staples, prepared foods and specialty consumer products — including a seed-oil free deli, cold brew and matcha, and allnatural soft serve. Most items are made in-house or sourced from nearby growers and producers.
“Simple ingredients, seasonal sourcing, allnatural. We wanted to provide our town with a space where you can walk in, grab something to eat and not have to question whether it’s filled with chemicals,” the family team behind Ollie’s said.
The store is independently owned and designed with the community in mind — no corporate playbook, just an oldfashioned focus on clean food and accessibility.
