TPA to present interactive light trail experience at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Dust off your witch hats and polish up your vampire teeth, because Halloween season is upon us. This year, the season begins on Sept. 25 when Halloween Town and Christmas Town meet at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center with the Texas premiere of Disney and Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” Light Trail.

Inspired by the classic film, this immersive nighttime experience will transport visitors through an outdoor adventure where beloved characters, scenes and songs from the film come to illuminated life on the trails of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Join Jack Skellington, Sally and Zero on a one-of-a-kind experience brought to magical life against a stunning Texas backdrop. Austin is one of only two cities in the country selected to host the walk-through light trail; the other is New York City, where it returns by popular demand.

“Following the overwhelming success of the light trail in New York City, we’re thrilled to bring this extraordinary experience to Austin,” LETSGO Founder, Iñaki Fernández, said. “Now more people than ever will have the chance to step into the spellbinding world of Tim Burton.”

Fernández is part of LETSGO, the Madrid-based creative team behind Tim Burton’s “Labyrinth” and “Lights in Nature” exhibits. Disney Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail” is created by Adventurelive, the producing team behind Broadway’s “Hamilton,” as well as LETSGO, and is presented by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical through Texas Performing Arts.

“I want to make an experience that surprises people — that is both visually stunning and sonically cool. This is

“I’m thrilled for Austin to be the first U.S. city outside New York to host this immersive event. Texas Performing Arts is always working to bring new creative experiences to our city, whether in the theater or beyond,” Bob Bursey, TPA Executive and Artistic Director, said. “We’re excited to offer Austin a new must-see fall experience by continuing our relationship with the producers of Hamilton after three remarkable productions at Bass Concert Hall, while working for the first time with our UT colleagues at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.”
