Hays County Sheriff speaks to Rotary

Anthony Hipolito was elected Sheriff of Hays County in November 2024. He will speak to the Rotary Club of San Marcos on Aug. 20 about the Sheriff’s Office and his priorities. Rotary meets at noon in the VFW Hall, located at 1701 Hunter Road, and visitors are always welcome.

Born in Austin, Hipolito moved to Hays County in 1985. He graduated from Hays High School in 1993. Later he attended Austin Community College to earn the course credits to qualify for a police officer position with the Austin Police Department. He began APD cadet training in January 1998 and graduated in October 1998.

During his 23 years at APD he worked in various units including patrol, street response, mounted patrol, public information office, executive protection, internal affairs and organized crime. In September 2021, he joined the Hays County Sheriff’s Office where he completed the Field Training Program and worked on patrol. After six months on patrol, he transferred to the Community Outreach Division where he organized outreach events for the Sheriff’s Office.

Hipolito lives in Dripping Springs with his wife, Peggy, and two daughters.

Rotary is nonprofit, nonpolitical, and nonreligious. The Rotary Club of San Marcos is more than 103 year old.
