The Community Gallery public call for art is open until Thursday August 28.
The gallery is located at San Marcos City hall and the new exhibition will run from September to March 2026. The show is juried and gallery space is limited and inclusion in the show is not guaranteed.
Established in 2024, The Community Art Gallery hosts shows that are bi-annual and highlight local and regional artists. The show is restricted to Hays County residents.
Applicants must submit an artist bio and up to three artworks available for loan for the duration of the exhibit. All 2-D and 3-D media that can be safely hung on the walls are eligible to be submitted. The only content restrictions are that all work for this family friendly public venue must be apolitical, non-violent and Grated. No nudity is allowed, even if it is tasteful and artistic. Art must be sized between 8”x10” at the smallest and 24’’ x35’’ at maximum with a weight limit of 30 pounds per artwork. Pieces must be ready to hang with hardware installed as close to the top as possible to avoid the artwork hanging forward off the wall.
There is no entry fee for this exhibit and work may be placed for sale with no commissions being taken by the gallery. If sold artwork must remain on the wall for the duration of the event.
