Representatives from consulting firm Freese and Nichols, Inc. and Hays County staff will meet with the public Tuesday at the San Marcos Library to discuss the development regulations rewrite process. The meeting will feature key concepts and findings, as well as current timelines for completion of the project. Hays County is currently working on a comprehensive revision to its development regulations. The county has tasked Freese and Nichols, Inc., to review, analyze and provide recommendations for updated regulations that will impact development requirements in Hays County.
Freese and Nichols is a privately owned engineering, planning and consulting firm with clients across the United States.
Key areas to be evaluated include water availability, water quality and erosion control, flood- plain management, environmental protection and transportation infrastructure.
Part of the initial phase of the project is hosting several meetings throughout Hays County on Tuesday. In addition to the open house at San Marcos library, scheduled for 7 to 8:30 pm, other open houses will take place at Dripping Springs Ranch Park (2 to 3:30 p.m), the Wimberley Community Center (2 to 3:30 p.m) and the City of Buda multipurpose room (7 to 8:30 p.m.).
Citizens are encouraged to attend the meetings to provide their feedback and any additional requests, recommendations or questions related to these matters.
