The San Marcos Art League is hosting the September Winners Showcase exhibition, displaying the works of the artists that were honored in the July Awards Show. The exhibition will run from Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Friday, Oct. 3 at the Art Center, located downtown at 117 N Guadalupe, Suite 101. Join the artists at the opening reception on Friday Sept. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Jim Robinson, winner of Best in Show, and Bridget Hauser, honorable mention in the 3D category, will bring examples of their ceramic work. In the Photography category, both first place winner Rick Hastie and Melanie Pena, honorable mention, will exhibit their unique views of life through a camera lens.
Bernardo Meza, the first place winner in the 3D category, will showcase his metal creatures and sculptures. In the category for Art Created Using Fiber, first place winner Michelle Robinson will display needlefelted art and Gwendolyn Hustvedt, honorable mention, will display her batiks on silk. In the category for Oils, Acrylics and Water Colors, first place winner Mia Lambert and Marj Jo Cadiz, honorable mention, will present their paintings.
