SNAKEFESSST & ART SQUARED
Slither down to the Discovery Center this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the annual Snakefessst! The event is open to snake lovers of all ages, they even encourage those who might be wary of snakes to attend to learn about our serpentine neighbors. I myself fall into the category of caution when dealing with snakes, so this is the perfect opportunity for me to learn about these legless critters and hopefully relieve my anxiety about their scaly reputation.
After facing my fears, I plan to find my way to the downtown courthouse for Art Squared, the monthly art market run by the San Marcos Art League. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be tons of vendors selling homemade art in all shapes and forms. From paintings to wood carvings to prints and ceramics, this market is the perfect opportunity to get to know the San Marcos art scene! There is always live music, a free kids arts and crafts booth, live art demonstrations and even free art supplies. Explore the market for your next favorite piece of art or for the perfect gift for those you love!
