In college football, games played on the West Coast on the night slate are lovingly called ‘Pac-12 After Dark.’ This weekend the Bobcats will get their first taste of that is sure to be many late night games when they travel to Arizona State for a 9:30 p.m. kickoff time.
With a lot of dead time on Saturday, here is how to appropriately use your time before the game.
To get the competitive juices flowing to start the day, instead of watching college football, go watch the Bobcat volleyball team who plays for the first time at home this season. With tip-off set for 11 a.m. against UIW, it’s a good way to start the morning.
After the game, eat at your favorite local restaurant in town and enjoy the afternoon slate of college football. Some of my favorites are the Taproom, Herberts, Alvin Ords, Grins and Valentinos, just to name a few.
Then enjoy a nice long nap before gearing up for the game, at least that is part of my plan.
While watching from the house is fun, seeing the Bobcats live on TNT while being on the Square will create some memories. Like your local restaurants, there are plenty of places to see the Bobcats in action from Harpers, CRAFThouse, Zellicks and Showdown. Your options are plentiful this Saturday so choose wisely.
