Over 1,600 attended the third annual Snakefessst at the San Marcos Discovery Center. Guests of all ages had the opportunity to interact with snakes and learn more about the slithery creatures. The event included herp walks, snake yoga and snake behavior demos, as well as live music, art activities and vendors.

“San Marcos loves snakes; people just really feel like snakes are part of the ecology and they accept their role in nature,” Discovery Center Specialist Niki Lake said.

The next Discovery Center event is the Fall Native Plant Sale and Monarch Festival on Saturday Oct. 11. Snakefessst is set to return next September. For more information visit https://sanmarcostx.gov/parks.
