Bobcats tie ULM in conference opener

Texas State soccer tied Louisiana Monroe in the first conference game for both teams in a 1-1 draw.

Texas State’s overall record goes to 3-2-3, 0-0-1 in conference while ULM’s overall record goes to 5-2-1, 0-0-1 in conference.

ULM struck first in the 16th minute as Leane Commaret scored the first goal for the Warhawks to go up 1-0.

Texas State made the equalizer in the 50th minute as junior Victoria Meza scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Matsuri Tsutsui, making it a 1-1 game.

Freshman keeper Brooklyn Escobar made two saves in the second half as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Bobcats will be back on the road Thursday against Georgia Southern.

Rattlers swept by Clemens 

San Marcos volleyball will continue to look for their first district win of the season as the Rattlers were swept by the Clemens 3-0 [25-19, 25-18, 25-11].

San Marcos will go on the road Tuesday night against San Antonio East Central.

Rattlers XC compete at Hays Invitational 

The Runnin’ Rattlers competed at the Hays Invitational last weekend.

For the girls, Aaralyn Julian took 61st place with a time of 20:14.00 while Destiny Garcia took 154th place with a time of 22:25.00. Marbella Gonzalez took 184th place with a time of 24:32.00 On the boys side, Moses Garcia took 45th place with a time of 16:50.00 while Marcus Friedman took 98th place with a time of 17:46.00. Adrian Diaz took 169th place with a time of 19:04.00.

The Rattlers will run Friday at the Hoka McNeil Elite Invitational in Round Rock.
