Bobcats defeat Hawaii at Stanford Invitational

Texas State volleyball defeated Hawaii 3-1 [25-16, 25-20, 19-25, 25-22] to close out the Stanford Invitational.

The Bobcats improve their record to 5-6 overall while Hawaii falls to 4-7.

Nina Moorer led the team in kills with 13 while Anna Blaine led the team in assists with 31. On defense, Maggie Walsh led the team in digs with 10 while Baily Hanner led the team in blocks with five.

Texas State returns home Friday and Saturday to open their final season in the Sun Belt against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. The Cajuns enter the twogame series with a 8-2 overall record, sweeping both Southern and Nicholls last weekend. Tip-off for Friday’s game is set for 6 p.m. while tip-off for Saturday’s game is set for 1 p.m., all at Strahan Arena.

Rattlers fall in five-set thriller to Judson San Marcos volleyball fell to the Converse Judson at home 3-2 [20-25, 2520, 25-20, 13-25, 15-14] in a five-set thriller.

The Rattlers will continue to look for their first district win of the season on the road against Cibolo Steele.

Rattlers compete at Hoka McNeil Invitational The San Marcos Cross Country team ran at the Hoka McNeil Invitational this past weekend at one of the biggest Cross Country meets of the season.

Competing in the Girls 5K Gold run, Aaralyn Julian placed in 74th place with a time of 19:56.30. Destiny Garcia placed 33rd overall in the 5K 6A Girls run with a time of 22:02.50.

For the boys, Moses Garcia played 38th overall in the 5K Silver Boys run with a time of 17:11.30. Marcus Friedman placed 76th overall in the 5K 6A Boys run with a time of 18:35.30.

The Rattlers will compete in one final meet before district at the Seguin Matador XC Invitational this Saturday.
