The series history between Wimberley and Navarro dates back to 1988, making the Panthers one of the most played opponents for the Texans in program history.
Wimberley and Navarro were paired as district bunkmates from 1988 through 1991, when the Panthers won the first two meetings in 1988 and 1989 and the Texans won the last two meetings in 1990 and 1991.
Wimberley and Navarro would not play each other again until the 2010 season where the two teams were placed in the same district. Since 2010, the Texans and the Panthers have remained district opponents, clashing for dis- trict championships over the years.

Wimberley won their four meetings against Navarro, including beating the Panthers in the 2010 regional final 40-14.
The Panthers then enjoyed their own four-game winning streak over the Texans from 2013-2016. After trading wins in 2017 and 2018, the 2019 season would see another highprofile clash between the two rivals.
For the district championship, the Panthers defeated the Texans 48-14 in a blowout. The two teams would meet again in the regional final at the Alamodome Thanksgiving Weekend where Wimberley extracted revenge, beating Navarro 42-12.
During the 2020 season, the Panthers and the Texans battled for the district championship once again as Navarro defeated Wimberley in a thriller, 24-22. Again, Navarro and Wimberley advanced to the regional final with the Texans taking down the Panthers 35-14.
Since their win in the regional final, Wimberley has enjoyed a five-game winning streak over the Panthers, coinciding with the Texans run of four straight district championships. In their last meeting, Wimberley defeated Navarro 47-21. The Texans lead the overall series 13-9 Kickoff for Wimberley-Navarro is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Texan Stadium.
