UPCYCLED ART SHOW & ROCKY HORROR
Fall is here and that means The Rocky Horror Picture Show is back at Triple Six Social!
Showtime starts Friday Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and runs next month on Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31 with a final show on Nov. 7. Tickets are $10 and proceeds go directly to the cast and crew. It’s 18+ of course and the show will be outside, so bring your own chair or blanket and enjoy a drink and snack from the cafe! In the words of the late, great Meat Loaf, “Hot patootie, bless my soul! I really love that rock n’ roll!”
Friday is the opening of local textile artist Corinne Loperfido’s new solo show at Eye of the Dog Art Center. Titled, “What Does the Earth Need Us 2 Do,” her work fuses art, fashion and eco-consciousness. Her art practice not only helps reduce waste but educates and invites the audience to do the same. The opening reception is from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sept.26. The artist will host upcycling and mending workshops on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at a sliding scale cost. Corinne’s work will intrigue and inspire you, and if you’re lucky to own her wearable art, you’ll look cool and eco-conscious at the same time.
