Cody Cowart has done it again. About five years ago, Cody told his parents he wanted to save his chore money to buy snacks and drinks for the deputies of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. Since then, he’s made about two trips a year—always bringing a plethora of goodies for the men and women who serve Hays County. Now, even with school and a job keeping him busy, Cody still makes time to support first responders.
Hays County Sheriff Anthony Hipolito swore in the Sunshine Kids as Junior Deputies before heading to the State Capitol in style with a VIP police escort. This capped off the day with a BBQ dinner, hosted by the Hays County Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association, and a refreshing swim to cool off.
