Guide to amendments on the November ballot

STATEWIDE ELECTIONS

Today we are running the introduction to a Texas Tribune series outlining each of the 17 state-wide constitutional amendments on the Nov. 4 ballot. We will include two of these overviews in every issue of the Daily Record until early voting begins on Oct. 20.

Two of these amendments are especially close to home for readers: Proposition 1, which allocates funding for Texas State Technical College, who are building a 133-acre campus in Seguin, and Proposition 4, which addresses water infrastructure funding, always a priority topic for San Marcos-area voters. In today’s issue Seguin Chamber of Commerce Chamber President Chester offers his thoughts on these two amendments.

On Nov. 4, Texas voters will get the final say on 17 constitutional amendments — usually listed as statewide propositions at the top of the ballot — including billions of dollars in property tax cuts for homeowners and businesses.
