AUSTIN RECORD CONVENTION & ALCHEMY RECORDS
As a life-long vinyl collector, I love stopping by Sundance Records. Great selection in a wide variety of genres, plus a friendly and knowledgeable staff, all you could ask for in your local wax shop. But some records are elusive. Online shopping can be the answer, but sometimes you just want to see that treasure in person, just to doublecheck the condition before bringing it home to your turntable. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a megamart of wax, a geek paradise of vinyl surrounding you in all directions… The Austin Record Convention is just that, a huge gathering of vendors from all over the country, showing off their treasures to tempt you first hand with records you didn’t know you would ever be able to find, along with some cool surprises you didn’t know you would buy until you are holding them in your hand. Saturday and Sunday at the Palmer Events Center, with Friday admission for the super geeks who want to pay $30 vs. the $5 charge for weekend entry.
Former San Marcos vinyl shop Alchemy Records will be hosting a popup event at the Convention.
Happy hunting!
