One person is dead and three people were injured in three San Marcos shootings on Saturday night that authorities believe are unrelated incidents. No suspects have been apprehended in the shooting that killed one person as of 3 p.m. on Nov. 2. A person is in custody for the third shooting that is not believed to have injuried anyone.
At 10 p.m. on Nov. 1, multiple gunshots were fired near Kissing Alley on Hopkins Street on the San Marcos Square. Three people were shot. Two people were transported to Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle, and the third was taken to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital in San Marcos where he died.
Police are looking for Black male suspects. One was described as wearing a black hoodie with white letters, dark pants and dark shoes. The other was wearing a two-tone jacket, black over light gray, dark pants and a beanie. They left the area in a four-door Audi A3. The vehicle has been recovered, but the suspects have yet to be identified.
At 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 2, there was a separate shooting in the 1600 block of Post Road. Police responded after multiple people called 911 to report a fight.
"Officers found shell casings and a large amount of blood near the pool," according to a press release from the city of San Marcos. The victim was later found at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa after being driven there by friends. The suspect in this shooting has not been located.
Around that same time, police ordered bars in downtown San Marcos to close. As police were leaving the scene of the original shooting on Hopkins Street at 1:50 a.m., multiple gunshots were fired. Officers chased and arrested the suspected shooter. It is unclear if anyone or anything was hit by those shots.
Police believe the three shootings are unrelated.
A press conference has been called by the San Marcos Police Department at 2 p.m. on Nov. 3.
